Belinda Slade

Owner

Kia ora, my name is Belinda

I am a trained early childhood teacher and primary  teacher with special needs experience. I have always aspired to owning a very unique and special preschool and am thrilled that there are now three Pebbles Preschools in the Christchurch area! I moved from England to Christchurch in 2000 with my husband and two children, Sam and Daisy. I enjoy being on the teaching floor, walking my labradoodle dogs, reading and swimming.

Anuja Samaraweera

Assistant Manager

Ayubowan, Tena koutou (Hello to all)

My name is Anuja Samaraweera and I was born in a beautiful island called Sri Lanka. I am married and have a son and a daughter.  We have two gorgeous cats. I am a fully registered teacher and hold a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and a North American Montessori Centre Teaching Diploma.  What I love about being a teacher is seeing how young tamariki (children) become competent and confident learners during their early years.  I believe that Montessori approach encourages tamariki to become self-motivated and independent learners. Nga tamariki have a range of meaningful learning opportunities to practice and extend their skills and knowledge for their life.

Erica Dobbelsteyn

Teacher

Hi everyone! My name is Erica and I am very excited to be taking on the role of key teacher here at Pebbles Montessori. I have been living in Christchurch for just over a year now and have enjoyed every minute of New Zealand. I travelled from Ontario Canada after receiving my bachelors degree in Child and Youth Development and later received my Teaching and Learning Diploma at the University of Canterbury. Outside of work I am a dedicated senior volunteer for Willowbank Wildlife Reserve. I work primarily with New Zealand’s lovely native birds and parrots. I also have been trained in all forms of dance and have enjoyed my work as a dance teacher for the past 5 years.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!
